What is Streetwise HR? It’s the awareness, experience, and resourcefulness needed to successfully deal with challenging HR situations. And, it’s the truth – not sugarcoated talk, not just what you want to hear, but what you need to hear – about how to develop a world-class HR function.

Yeah, that’s right – HR. Call it what you want – the people side of business, personnel, people development, employee relations. You know what? The name doesn’t matter. It’s what you do – or don’t do – that counts.

And who am I? I’m Al Lucia, a streetwise Italian guy from Philly.

What do I know about HR? A lot! I’ve been there, done it, seen it all, and experienced the challenges... just like you have. I’ve spent my entire career (and that’s a long time, baby) in HR – in industries as diverse as automobile manufacturing and healthcare, in the U.S. and abroad.

I’ll shoot straight and tell you the truth...about the people in your organization, about what senior management wants from you, about how you can solve your toughest people problems. We’re going to spend some time talking...me at first, and then you when you give me a call. We’ll talk about the questions you don’t want to ask anyone else, and we’ll talk about some HR issues you may not have even considered before.

Life in HR – just like life on the streets – is often gritty and tough. But underneath it runs a current of compassion that comes from a common bond. Let me be your guide through the Streets of HR...you just might learn something.
