Pizza Is Healthy
By Al Lucia, CSP

Now before you low-carb-diet and health experts jump on me, I want to explain that when I say ‘healthy’ I’m not necessarily suggesting that pizza can clean out your arteries …although that would nice! The ‘health’ I’m referring to is the social and psychological benefits you receive from eating pizza.

Imagine the feeling you get when someone offers you a slice of pizza, or suggests you go out for a whole pizza pie. For some reason it’s just not the same as going to get a salad.

The expectation is good times, upbeat conversation, sports watching or celebration. Sometimes it’s a combination of all of these. Add to this the fact that pizza is relatively inexpensive and readily available, and you have the makings (or toppings) for something very positive.

It’s probably true that we need more positivity in our lives, both at work and at home. What we can learn from this pizza example is to initiate, share and communicate. So, I suggest you ask someone out for pizza, share a pie, and talk. Through this, there is a chance that we can improve relationships and our lives in general.

So it is in this way you can stay healthy, in the broadest sense of the term.
